Yotam Silberstein, one of the leading jazz guitarists of his generation, has gained acclaim for a sound rich in bebop and blues as well as musical folklore from South America, North Africa and the Middle East, giving his music an increasingly global thrust.
One year after his acclaimed Standards album, Yotam continue the journey with Standards, Vol.2 recorded during the same prolific session at Samurai Studios (Queens). Featuring, once again, the extraordinary trio:
NEA Jazz Master Billy Hart (drums), jazz legend John Patitucci (bass), and icon George Coleman, who makes a special appearance on one track.
While Yotam Silberstein is primarily known for his original compositions,Standards Vol. 2 is a bold artistic choice where he almost exclusively turns to pieces written by others. The album reimagines classics, highlighting Yotam’s deep connection to lesser knows parts of the American Songbook. Once again, he offers his listeners his unique voice vision of jazz—one that promotes peace, love, and understanding through music. Collaborating with such legendary musicians, he reaffirms his place as one of the most brilliant and inspired guitarists of his generation, and a defining voice in contemporary jazz.
