Ron Carter & Yotam Silberstein

Duets

available JUNE 5, 2026

Duets brings together two jazz masters across generations in an elegant, ethereal, and swinging dialogue: Ron Carter, the legendary double bassist who shaped jazz history alongside Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock and many others ; and Yotam Silberstein, one of the leading jazz guitarists of his generation. Conceived by producer Simon Belelty as a tribute to Carter's iconic duo recordings with guitarist Jim Hall, the album was recorded at the legendary Van Gelder Studio—where, as if it was meant to be, the session fell on December 4th: Jim Hall's birthday.

The duo creates a world that is fully melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic—rooted in swing, elegance, and deep mutual listening. The eight-track program balances rare, carefully chosen standards with two Silberstein originals, including "Blues for Brother Malone" a heartfelt tribute to the late guitarist Russell Malone.

"My deepest gratitude to the Maestro, Mr. Carter—your inspiration and support mean more than words can express. This project is truly a dream come true." Yotam Silberstein

"Thank you Yotam for the opportunity to play these wonderful memories of Russell Malone. Let your ears enjoy the pleasure as well.Ron Carter
